ZHU Releases “LEVELZZZ” Ahead of ‘BLACK MIDAS’ Album

With anticipation mounting around his next chapter ZHU sets the mood with a potent statement that embodies the essence of his late-night sonic world. The GRAMMY-nominated artist further develops his sound with his forthcoming album BLACK MIDAS through bold collaborations and immersive storytelling. With the momentum rolling into bookings at some of the biggest festival’s in the world, this latest release, a single by the name “LEVELZZZ” shows a turning point in his 2026 rollout.

A press release from ZHU’s management revealed that LEVELZZZ is a collaboration with GCBestBelieve & HNTR.

“‘LEVELZZZ’ is for all my clubber, ravers, and late night creatures who need energy to keep going,” says ZHU and with contributions from newcomer GCBestBelieve and HNTR, who remixed ZHU’s breakout “FADED” last year, the track is exactly what it prescribes. Intensity but in levels that build in all the right ways.

Listen to “LEVELZZZ”:

For BLACK MIDAS–which will be fully released on April 24–ZHU transports listeners into a different world by creating tracks around late night narratives through sounds, emotions, words and energy he encountered on his journey. The productions range from deep house to melodic techno as heard on the first single “BLACK MIDAS” and feature collaborations with an array of underground and emerging artists including Joyia on previous single “BURN” and now South Africa’s GCBestBelieve on “LEVELZZZ” who came to the project via ZHUs Instagram.

Shares GCBestBelieve, “My late best friend ‘John Doe’ whose influence shaped my music artistry, put me on to ZHU in 2014 through two songs, ‘In The Morning’ & ‘Money.’ Since then I’ve been a fan. Last year ZHU posted on his Instagram Story through BLACKLIZT that we should send him music – so I sent him my song ‘LEVELS.’ When he responded with a new version called LEVELZZZ using my vocals I couldn’t believe it. It was a dream come true, lol…after hearing the full record my mind was blown. I’m very excited for the whole world to dance to it.”

Pre-save ZHU’s BLACK MIDAS album:

As his breakout hit “Faded” was given new life via a remix from HNTR, ZHU spent 2025 embarking on DJ sets integrating himself deeper into the global dance music community, building upon his BLACKLIZT nightlife concept and arcing into what was to become BLACK MIDAS. There were sets with Mathame in Bogota and deadmau5 on Coachella’s Quazar stage, surprise pop ups post Bonnaroo weather shutdown in Nashville, Brooklyn Store House in NYC, and at Lighting In A Bottle, as well as shared stages with Paul Kalkbrenner and Mahmut Orhan. He traveled to Turkey for a headlining set at Istanbul’s VW Arena and London for a turn at the legendary Drumsheds.

In support of BLACK MIDAS look for ZHU to appear at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Rabbits Eat Lettuce Festival in Queensland, Australia and Tomorrowland in Belgium. Look for more to be announced soon.

About ZHU:

ZHU first made his presence known to the world with his 2014 single “Faded” which was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2015 GRAMMY Awards. Though many know ZHU as a producer and DJ, he’s much more than that: he’s also a singer, performer, instrumentalist, and, importantly, a songwriter and filmmaker, two facets he delved into for his previous project, 2024’s album and film GRACE. He stamped his spot with his genre-blurring 2016 debut, GENERATIONWHY and continued to evolve with subsequent projects like RINGOS DESERT (2018), DREAMLAND 2021 (2021), Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) (2022) and the Days Before Grace EP (2023). Look for his new album BLACK MIDAS to arrive April 24, 2026.
