Anne Hathaway in Lever & More at ‘Mother Mary’ NYC Premiere

The stars of “Mother Mary” were out in full fashion force on Monday night for the film’s New York City screening. Anne Hathaway led the high fashion brigade, wearing a wispy look by Lever Couture with shimmering accessories.

Michaela Coel and FKA Twigs embraced costume-y apparel that channeled the high drama and fantasy of the new pop drama picture. WWD breaks down those looks ahead.

Hathaway gave ethereal dressing a contemporary spin in an asymmetrical dress by Lever Couture. The white, semi-sheer look featured a wispy design with material that provided both structure and fluidity. The sleeveless dress included a thigh-high slit that spotlighted the actress’ metallic silver Christian Louboutin pumps. The “Les Misérables” Oscar winner accessorized with jewelry pieces by Bulgari, including rings and earrings — Hathaway serves as an ambassador and campaign star for the brand. Stylist Erin Walsh curated Hathaway’s attire.

Coel turned to creative director Sarah Burton’s Givenchy for her look. The Emmy Award-winning writer and actress wore a look from the French luxury fashion house’s fall 2026 collection, which debuted during Paris Fashion Week in March. The look was a contrast in fabrics and tones, with a sleeveless cream and blush blouse with a defined waist and fabric draping paired with black wide-leg trousers. Coel’s look was curated by stylist Nell Kalonji.

Like Coel, FKA Twigs also turned to the runway for her attire. The “Video Girl” artist wore a design from Ashi Studio’s spring 2026 couture show, which debuted during Paris Couture Week in January. The look harkened back to 18th- and 19th-century dress, with a corseted bodice and long sleeves including ornate embroidery. A wispy, mossy skirt flowed from beneath the bodice framing the singer’s platform ankle boots by Marc Jacobs.

Directed by David Lowery, “Mother Mary” follows the titular pop star, played by Hathaway, who reconnects with her estranged best friend and former costume designer, played by Coel, on the eve of her comeback performance. The film hits theaters Friday.
