Many parts of Greece are set to again experience high levels of dust, accompanied by cloudy conditions and light ‘mud rain’ as a new wave of Sahara dust moves into the country.
High concentrations of desert dust are already affecting large parts of the country, with conditions expected to worsen over the coming days.
According to AtmoHub, air quality and visibility on Tuesday showed signs of deterioration, reaching or slightly exceeding legal limits on the Ionian islands, Western Greece, Central Greece, and Epirus.
On Wednesday, the dust cloud is forecast to move eastward, affecting the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and much of the Aegean.
Meteorologists expect the phenomenon to cover most of the country by Thursday, with the exception of Evros in northern Greece.
The National Observatory of Athens indicates that the new wave of dust, which began Tuesday, will intensify slightly on Wednesday and persist through Friday.

Authorities warn that air quality will be significantly affected, advising caution for vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
