00:00 Speaker A
It’s been an incredible tax season. Uh, we have uh done more with less at the IRS.
00:08 Speaker A
that we have moved over millions of taxpayers to digital tax accounts, and that leaves us able to service more taxpayers in person and on the phone.
00:20 Speaker A
And as we can see, the economy was very strong. We are seeing uh growth across the board in in all areas.
00:30 Speaker A
And the as Kelly said, you know, small business, Main Street are the really the big beneficiaries. And this is what they don’t want you to hear.
00:41 Speaker A
that, you know, Wall Street always does great. This administration is focused on parallel prosperity and bringing prosperity back to Main Street and that starts with people keeping more
00:52 Speaker A
the of their money.
00:54 Speaker B
The president has publicly said that you are the reason that he has not fired um Chairman J. Powell.
01:02 Speaker B
Um will you make that case again to him as he’s recently said that he still wants to fire the chairman?
01:06 Speaker A
Uh look, I I I am confident that the process that we have laid out in terms of Kevin Warsh, they becoming the next Fed chair.
01:16 Speaker A
Uh he’s going to have the hearing on the 21st of this month. Uh he is a great candidate. Uh we know that the uh Republicans on the Senate Finance or Senate Banking Committee are aligned in that, and I am very optimistic that they Kevin Warsh will be the chair of the Fed on time and that will be a moot question.
01:36 Speaker C
So when are we really going to get $3 a gallon gas?
01:41 Speaker A
Well, I think that’s going to be the uh up to how how the negotiations go. President Trump said this morning that he thinks we’re nearing the end.
01:52 Speaker A
Uh the US kept their side on the ceasefire, we’ve stopped firing. The straights of Hormuz have not been completely reopened. Uh so we will see and I’m optimistic uh that during the summer, we will see gas with a three in front of it sooner rather than later.
02:13 Speaker A
I have it’s bank week here in DC, so I’ve been meeting with a lot of my Middle Eastern counterparts, the finance ministers, and they all say that once the straits are opened, they can start pumping again within one week.
02:26 Speaker C
So not by summer, like Memorial day, but maybe by Labor day?
02:32 Speaker A
Uh again, I I’m optimistic that sometime between June 20th and September 20th that we can have $3 gas again.
02:42 Speaker A
And as I said this morning, too, we are going to be watching the gas stations because they uh they raise prices very quickly when the stated, when the crude oil prices went up.
02:56 Speaker A
We hope they’ll bring them down just as quickly as crude oil prices have come down, which they’ve come down substantially just in the past 10 days.
