Edwardsville live music April events venues schedule


Edwardsville’s “foodie kind of town” label might have a rival if people start catching on to how much live entertainment the city has. Local businesses have packed weekend schedules, and some even have options on Thursday and Sunday nights. The Intelligencer found 10 places where readers can get out and support local artists and businesses from April 16 to April 19. We couldn’t fit in all the businesses promoting live entertainment, but readers can discover more in upcoming lists.

The Countdown: Thursday, April 16

Matt Heaton, who plays covers and originals, will perform at Big Daddy’s from 6-9 p.m.

The Skylark Brothers Band, playing classics and originals, will perform at Stagger Inn Again from 7-10 p.m.

DJ Carters will play at Backstage Bar & Patio from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The First Verse: Friday, April 17

Sheafor and Simes, who just headlined the Wildey Theatre’s lobby dedication, will play at Big Daddy’s from 6-9 p.m.

Billy the Kid, the group that describes itself as “the definitive Billy Joel tribute,” is performing at the Wildey Theatre at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets are available at the box office and on the theatre’s online ticketing site.

Sacred Grounds Cafe will host its next Sacred Sessions from 5-8 p.m., featuring Warren Evans with acoustic guitar. The cafe’s after-hours menu includes pizza, salads and mocktails.

The Ex-Bombers will play at Samm’s Last Chance Saloon from 8 – 10 p.m.

Brewtopia will perform alternative rock at Backstage Bar & Patio from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Chorus: Saturday, April 18

Joe Bassa, of the St. Louis band Surtsey, will perform at Barrel and Bru from 7-10 p.m.

Rewind, an acoustic trio playing ‘70s hits, will play at Big Daddy’s from 6-9 p.m.

The Funky Butt Brass Band, a group combining everything from jazz to funk to rock, is performing at the Wildey Theatre at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets are available at the box office and on the theatre’s online ticketing site.

Scott Marlin will perform a solo acoustic set at the Foundry Public House from 2-5 p.m.

The Skylark Brothers Trio will play at Sneaky’s Bar & Burger Joint from 7-10 p.m.

John Drake, an Americana singer-songwriter, will perform at Global Brew Tap House from 7-10 p.m.

Stagger Inn Again is hosting a songwriters’ night from 5-8 p.m.

Rock cover band Badd Tattoo will be at Backstage Bar & Patio from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Bridge: Sunday, April 19

Big Daddy’s will host Vinyl Hour from 4-7 p.m.
