How Fashion To Reconnect brings together East and West fashion and cultures


The exhibition “Fashion To Reconnect: A Tale of Two Style Capitals” was recently inaugurated in Hong Kong and will take place from today until 25 December 2025 as a bridge aiming to make Eastern and Western countries’ cultures meet together.

The exhibition features works of Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte and, under the curation of designer Tiziano Guardini, showcases masterpieces by nine Hong Kong-based and 16 Italian designers and brands reflecting the cultural exchange and resonance between two regions. 

The initiative was organised by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, City University of Hong Kong with Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte in partnership with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency is a program of the Hong Kong Fashion Fest presented by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and supported by the Consulate General of Italy.

Fashion To Reconnect is a touring exhibition presented by Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte and inspired by the dynamic equilibrium of Michelangelo Pistoletto’s Third Paradise art piece. 

“In the Third Paradise, nature and humanity interweave into a single breath: in sustainable fashion, that breath becomes freedom, becomes responsibility, becomes ethical beauty,” explained the artist the meaning hìof his Third paradise artwork.

The project “Fashion To Reconnect: A Tale of Two Style Capitals” also serves as a platform to recognise designers’ contributions to sustainable fashion worldwide. 

“Each designer and brand featured demonstrates that creating does not merely mean producing, but generating value, respect, and regeneration at every stage of the process. This exhibition is a bridge between Italy and Hong Kong, between past and future, between who we are and who we can become,” commeneted Tiziano Guardini.

Along with the fashion creations and the art pieces exhibition, they will also host a series of initiatives like a symposium, a roundtable and seminars to discuss East-meets-West exchange strategies in creative industries.
