Three clubs chase Iraola
The Spaniard is also wanted by Crystal Palace, but La Liga outfit Athletic Club could have the strongest chance of recruiting the current Bournemouth man.
”Iraola’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with his current contract due to expire in June. His success with Bournemouth has made him a target for clubs higher up the food chain, including United, who will appoint a manager in the summer.
”The Spaniard has also been linked with Crystal Palace, who will lose Oliver Glasner in the summer, and Athletic Club, who need to find a successor to Ernesto Valverde, who recently announced he will leave the club at the end of the season.”
Bournemouth track McKenna
Kieran McKenna is one of the potential replacements for Iraola at Bournemouth for next season.
The Ipswich Town boss is highly regarded – and could yet take his current side into the Premier League at the end of the season.
”The south coast club are already underway with the search for Iraola’s replacement. Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna features highly in their thinking but other candidates are under consideration.
”Ipswich, who are challenging for Premier League promotion, want to keep McKenna but the Northern Irishman’s contract at Portman Road does contain a release clause.”
Garnacho could depart Chelsea
Less than a season into his Chelsea career, Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho could be moved on.
The Telegraph believes that the Londoners are looking for a new player to occupy the left-hand role.
”Aside from an exhilarating performance against Aston Villa, Garnacho has been largely underwhelming and it is noteworthy how little he has played under Liam Rosenior.
”The winger goes to ground far too easily and his final ball is often lacking. The fact Chelsea are still looking for a forward who can play off the left suggests the club are just as unconvinced by Garnacho as the Stamford Bridge fans.”
Newcastle signing to kickstart spree
Newcastle have snapped up Johan Martinez from Independiente del Valle, with the 16-year-old due to officially join when he turns 18.
The Express claims Martinez could just be the first of many players from South America as Newcastle look for talent in the region.
“The 16-year-old will officially join the Magpies following his 18th birthday and will continue with Independiente del Valle in the meantime until the summer of 2027.
”It is a transfer very much geared towards the future, yet Newcastle are understood to have seen off competition from the likes of Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen to secure his services.
”This could be the first of several under-the-radar acquisitions for the Magpies as they seek to strengthen their youth setup with talent from that region.”
