Inside Swan Dive during last month’s South by Southwest, dance rock artist Victor Jones – shirt plastered to his body with sweat – repeatedly wailed “I wanna get your number, I wanna touch your shoulder.” Those … straightforward lines come from a six-minute track titled “Shoulder Song.” Expect more raw delivery and zany lines when the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter returns to town.

Hip-hop multihyphenate Ben Buck celebrates his city-proclaimed day, April 17, by hosting a two-day slate of lyrics-oriented rap. Dub Equis closes night one, with support from rap collective CHHK and trio FreeBloo&theFreak. Michigan rapper One Be Lo of Binary Star headlines festivities a few steps down the road for night two, with support from masked man Vermin the Villain. Last year marked the 25th anniversary of Binary Star’s second LP, Masters of the Universe.
