The Boston Celtics didn’t have to play their final regular-season game against the Orlando Magic. Their status as the second seed is secured, so head coach Joe Mazzulla doesn’t have to field his strongest team against an Orlando Magic squad that is also a lock for the play-in tournament.
The game served as an audition for the rest of the Celtics roster for postseason minutes. Baylor Scheierman was the top player among the rest of the C’s in the 113-108 win, notching an impressive box score of 30 points on 40% shooting to go with seven boards, seven dimes and two steals.

While the Celtics’ depth impressively overcame their counterparts in Orlando, they weren’t free from officiating errors that could have turned the final score the other way.
The league published its Last 2 Minutes report of the April 12 game between the two sides and claimed that there were two incorrect calls during the season finale.
The first incorrect non-call was a shooting foul against Dalano Banton against Franz Wagner. The Boston forward wrapped his arms around the Orlando star’s waist as he was making his shot.

The other call the officials should have made was a loose-ball foul against Wendell Carter Jr. after grabbing Scheierman’s left arm/shoulder area during the jump ball.
The two sides have a chance to face each other again in the first round of the playoffs if the Magic takes down the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the play-in tournament.
