Moda Operandi Launches Club Moda La Isla, an Exclusive Multibrand Collection

Moda Operandi is embracing the spirit of summer with its newest Club Moda curated, multibrand capsule collection, “Club Moda La Isla.”

“Now in its fifth year, Club Moda has evolved into a defining part of the Moda brand and a key pillar of our collaboration strategy. Each capsule has consistently sold through almost immediately, with ongoing demand and requests from our client base well beyond launch, which has given us the confidence — and the insight — to make this our most expansive collection to date,” April Hennig, Moda’s president, told WWD of the collection, which is the designer fashion e-commerce platform’s largest to date with more than 425 pieces available from 68 designers.

To build out the capsule, the Moda Operandi teams worked in close collaboration with each brand to bring forth the collection’s escapist, summer feeling across categories. This coastal glamour mood is echoed through the Club Moda La Island editorial campaign featuring models Gal Levi and Eduarda Bretas, photographed by Haris Farsarakis on location at the One&Only Aesthesis along the Athenian Riviera.

The capsule brings together a mix of globally recognized and emerging designers, including Rabanne, Christopher Esber, Des Phemmes, Missoni, Rosie Assoulin, De La Vali, Siedrés, Françoise and more. In addition, the assortment introduces Pucci and Made Some to Moda Operandi’s roster.

“The ready-to-wear centers around nightlife-inspired embellishments, nostalgic prints, caftan silhouettes, sheer fabrications, high-shine gold and scarf dressing,” Hennig said of the capsule’s ’70s and ’80s resortwear spirit with a mood that melds glamour, bohemianism and thrill-seeking styles.

“The 425-plus piece exclusive capsule unfolds as a richly layered wardrobe of escapist dressing — where diaphanous sheers, light-catching paillettes, fluid lamé and swaying fringe meet hypnotic, sun-drenched prints and alluring silhouettes,” she said.

Hennig’s cited highlights such as Christopher Esber’s scarf dressing, Conner Ives’ black halter-neck dress with mother-of-pearl belt, La Veste’s playful party dressing and Made Some’s Hydra tank tops that subtly nod to Greece.

While ready-to-wear remains an anchor category, she said: “We also built out the lifestyle categories into a more robust offering than ever before, including both fashion and fine jewelry, shoes, handbags, home and beauty. We worked much further in advance with our brand partners, giving us the opportunity to embrace longer lead times in other categories, while unifying a cohesive vision across the entire capsule.”

The Club Moda La Isla accessories curation plays into Mediterranean maximalism with novelty evening bags (think beaded mini totes and tasseled satin pouches); beach-friendly pareos and hats, and playful jewelry with shells, beads and multicolored gemstones.

“Even for a vacationer who typically only wears flats, Christian Louboutin’s Vaporetta sandals are real outfit-makers. The scarf detail adds movement and a sense of island party energy, instantly elevating even the simplest look,” Hennig said of accessory highlights alongside The Rolling and The Stoned’s collectible ash trays, Le Sundian’s bi-colored shantung silk tassel pouches, and Spinelli Kilcollin’s newest fine jewelry rings featuring marquise cut gemstone charms.

In addition to ready-to-wear and accessories, the Club Moda La Isla home assortment includes two exclusive Throwing Doubles travel games — a backgammon board and leather playing card set in a limited Italian leather colorway of kiwi green, cobalt blue and camel.

“When Moda came to us, they had this incredible mood board — the energy around La Isla was so specific and evocative,” Brittany Chadwick, founder and chief executive officer of Throwing Doubles, told WWD of her ’70s Ibiza-inspired styles being included.

To celebrate the digital shopping launch, Moda Operandi sent a gifting package filled with limited-edition Club Moda La Isla pieces to a curated group of 150 tastemakers. The playful assortment was filled with “playful, playful, irreverent keepsakes inspired by the hedonistic spirit and after-hours allure of island party culture,” including Club Moda baby T-shirts and tanks, a Ben-Amun “candy” necklace, retro poker visor, Edie Parker embellished silver lighter case and Ossa New York phone case. Select tastemakers also received ready-to-wear and accessories styles from the capsule.

The Club Moda La Isla capsule and curated edit is available to shop on Moda Operandi’s e-commerce, with ready-to-wear, accessories, home and beauty priced from $55 to $33,000.
