Kingswood Oxford will be holding S.P.A.R.K on the West Hartford campus this spring.

Kingswood Oxford is excited to invite students in grades 4-7 to campus for S.P.A.R.K. – a free, hands-on morning of science discovery at Kingswood Oxford on Saturday, May 16.
S.P.A.R.K. stands for “Science. Play. Action. Research. Knowledge,” and that’s exactly what the morning is all about. Students will dive into interactive labs, ask big questions, and explore how science connects to the world around them.
Throughout the morning, students will rotate through all three engaging sessions:
Snack Science: Cracking the Code of Carbs, Fats & Proteins
Students will test everyday foods to uncover the building blocks of life – carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.
From Cabbage to Chemistry: A Color-Changing Exploration of pH
Using red cabbage as a natural indicator, students will experiment with acids and bases and watch chemistry come alive in vibrant color.
Air Apparent: The Invisible Force All Around Us
Through hands-on experiments, students will explore the properties of air – and discover just how powerful something invisible can be.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, May 16
- Time: 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m.)
- Location: Kingswood Oxford Middle School – 832 Trout Brook Drive, West Hartford
- Cost: Free
Space is limited. Sign up by May 12. Students should bring a water bottle. Snacks will be provided.
This is a fun, energetic introduction to the kind of curiosity-driven, hands-on learning that defines the KO experience, and we’d love for your child to be part of it.
